Everyone has garden lights that line walkways and flower beds. Not only do they provide light on dark nights, but they provide a beautiful ambiance and improve the look of your home and landscaping. Now many of these lights come in solar versions, so that you are not using any additional electricity. However, after a while, solar lights are notorious for not working any longer. This is especially true of the lower cost ones which so many people buy to beautify their homes. Well luckily there is an easy fix that will get your lights glowing again. here is how to fix outdoor solar lights.

1. Step 1

   Obviously, the first thing you want to do is change out the battery. Batteries don't last forever and if you can't remember when you last changed it, then chances are good that it's dead. Be sure to use NiCad batteries. Although these cost more, they are rechargeable and have a much longer lifespan than other batteries.

2. Step 2

   If you replace the batteries and the solar light still does not light up, then the problem may be the connection terminal. To fix this, first remove the battery.

3. Step 3

   Then take a small piece of aluminum foil folded up and place next to either or both of the battery terminals in the solar light.

4. Step 4

   Replace the battery and your solar light should be fully functional.
