Horsepower is literally the driving force that allows vehicles to travel. Vehicles can always be altered and improved to provide more power and performance. There are several ways to do this, through air, fuel, and exhaust. The most financially efficient way to increase horsepower is through air induction.

Things You'll Need:

• Cold air intake
• Ratchets and sockets
• Screwdrivers

1. Step 1
2. Open the hood and disconnect the negative side of the battery. The air box will have to be removed. Most air boxes are held down by four bolts or screws on the base of the box. Loosen all the bolts and leave them in place.
3. Step 2

   Loosen the hose clamp on the throttle body that will release the air hose. The air sensor will be attached to this hose. Detach the sensor from the hose and leave it attached to the engine. Remove the air hose from the throttle body and remove the air box.

4. Step 3

   Place the new air intake in the vehicle and follow the manufacturer's instructions for the install. All vehicles will vary on the procedure to install the new intake. Read the instruction manual before beginning.

5. Step 4

   Insert the air hose into the throttle body and gently attach the hose clamp to secure it in place. With the clamps in place, attach the air sensor to the new hose.

6. Step 5

   Place the new filter box in the engine bay using the supplied bolts or fasteners. Make sure all the fasteners are tightened down with the box in its proper position.

7. Step 6

   Place a hose clamp around the end of the filter and attach the new filter to the end of the air hose by using a screwdriver. The filter should fit tight enough to not allow air out of the joint.

8. Step 7

   Check all the clamps to ensure they are tight. Check all the bolts or fasteners to ensure they are secure and reattach the battery cable. Turn on the car and make sure the filter is working properly.
