3 Tips for Polishing an Electric Rang

When cleaning the interior, or the exterior of your electric range, you will want to be careful as not to scratch the outer coating. This outer surface can be damaged by using the wrong cleaning supplies on it.
Cleaning Knobs and Burners
Prepare your electric range for cleaning by removing the Racks, Burners and Knobs. These can be cleaned in the sink with regular dish soap and you will want to use a dish cleaner that has grease remover in it. Simply soak them in water and scrub them separately as needed.
Stove Top Cleaning
Wipe down your range with a damp rag to remove any crumbs that may have built up on the surface. On an enamel covered electric range, you will want to use soft scrub type cleaners, and other non abrasive type cleansers. Do not use steel wool on your stove surface, or any other type of metallic cleaning pad. Use a soft bristled brush to break up anything that is dried on. A good de-greaser sprayed on the stoves surface to soak can cut through just about anything.
Cleaning the Range Oven
Newer models of electric range have an oven cleaning function. Simply seal the door with the security handle and let the oven do the rest. Then go in to the oven after the "cleaning" has finished, and then wipe it out with a damp rag. If you are not lucky enough to have a "auto cleaning" oven, simply follow the stove top cleaning method and apply it to the oven as well.
