1. Free Standing Stove
The freestanding stove has proven to be exceedingly popular with the general public, and is the natural gas stove most often chosen by homeowners. The reasons for this are obvious, as the free standing stove has an attractive traditional stove appearance, and can also be used in fireplaces which have been adapted from wood-burning stoves. In addition, they can be fitted to any other part of the room using a ventilation system in the ceiling or wall. 2. Insert Stoves
The insert stove will have to be fitted into a pre-existing fireplace, so there is no point in installing this if you do not have access to a flue. Unlike the freestanding, you will not be able to stand this in the center of the room, so you may find that you cannot heat certain parts of your room. However, the insert heater is know for its extremely efficient use of fuel, and the warmth that it provides. It can also be fitted with gas log features which give the additional impression of a gas fire. This is a feature which many gas stove users would like to have, and provides excellent decoration for a room.
3. Zero Clearance Stove
The Zero clearance stove is also very popular with homeowners who do not possess an already functioning chimney. This stove can be fitted with vents for chimneys and walls, which allows them to be placed in any position in the room. If you have trouble heating the far side of a large room, for example, then a zero clearance stove may be one to consider. This stove is also less likely to ignite combustible materials, which can make it perfect for use in a room which a lot of wood, or which has other flammable items. This means it can be used even in rooms where there is very little space between the stove and other items of furniture.
Options for Natural Gas Stoves
As well as these variations upon the natural gas stove, buyers will also have to consider whether to purchase a radiant or circulating heater, the former of which may only heat small areas directly in front of the stove, although circulating heaters tend to dry out the air and may not be suitable for those with lung problems. Most of the natural gas stoves will be available with an electrical switch for igniting the gas, although people may use manual if they prefer.
