How to the Child’s Pose in Yoga

Child’s pose is one of the restorative’s poses in yoga, and it is one of the easier ones as well, and the child’s pose is also known as balasana in the yogi world. The following are the steps to the pose:

Things You'll Need:

  • Yoga mat

Step 1

Get down on your knees on your mat and sit on your heels and breathe out as you lay yourself to the mat and breathe in.

  • Step 2

Breathe out and as you are down open up a bit the legs so that your stomach is closer to the mat and have your arms stretched in front of you and breathe in and then breathe out.

  • Step 3

Breathe in and get your arms around your body where your feet are (or as far as you can reach) and have your palms facing up and relax your shoulders so that they get closer to the mat. Rest in this position for about a minute or two being a restorative pose.
