Chrome Cleaning, Care and Repair
Submitted by Lohan on Mon, 03/29/2010 - 02:34Chromium, a hard blue white metal, has a brilliant luster used as a plating on other metals. Chrome bumpers, auto body trim, appliance handles and electric fry pans are examples of chrome plating. If grease builds up and is baked on it will burn and be hard to remove. Washing chrome plated items in greasy dishwater leaves a greasy film that will burn on.

Sheetrock/Drywall Repair
Submitted by Lohan on Mon, 03/29/2010 - 02:31Sheetrock, or drywall as it's technically known, is the foundational backing for most interior walls in homes and other buildings. It's relatively inexpensive, not terribly difficult to hang and finish, and is easy to paint or decorate. The process of installing drywall involves hanging it and taping and mudding the joints, which is called finishing. Only after drywall is finished can it be textured and decorated in the appropriate manner, whether with primer and paint or wallpaper. It can happen, though, that existing drywall gets damaged somehow.

How to Repair Wallpaper Seams
Submitted by Lohan on Mon, 03/29/2010 - 02:28If you need to repair wallpaper, particularly wallpaper seams that have become loose, you will be encouraged to know that repairing loose wallpaper seams isn’t as difficult as it might seem. Vertical seams on wallpaper may come loose for several reasons. One reason is that when the wallpaper was initially installed and when the seam was rolled, too much glue may have inadvertently been squeezed out from beneath the wallpaper by pressure from the roller, leaving the wallpaper without paste.

When wallpaper is new and in good shape it can add a lot of depth, richness and character to a room. On the flip side though, if it is nicked, torn, or falling down it can make a room look pretty run down no matter how nice everything else in the space may be. Repairing, patching, and maintaining your wallpaper is a great way to fix up the appearance of any room that may have old paper that is showing some signs of wear.
